Do you like food? Can you finish a book? This might be the club for you.
Book club will meet every month or every other month depending on how quickly the books come in. Book club members will select a book to read that month, read the book on their own, and then meet (with food) to discuss the book over lunch.
High School Abe Lincoln Program
If you have finished a book from this year's Abe Lincoln book, submit the form HERE to count it in this year's program.
Every year, Illinois librarians and students pick a group of 20 book to make the Abe Lincoln list. This list is geared toward high school students, and quite frankly, it's awesome. The books are all just fantastic. At the end of the year, any student who has read 4 or more books can vote for the winning book of the year.
Our school will participate in the voting and much, much more. Any student who has read 3 books by November 1st will get a pizza party. There will be other rewards throughout the year.
At the end of the year, there will be a raffle for tons of prizes like money, candy, and a Kindle. Students will get a raffle ticket for each book they've read.
To track students' reading, there will be review forms in the library. For each Abe Lincoln book you read, you will fill out a form and turn it in to the circulation desk.
Abe Lincoln books are located on the top of the fiction shelves and are labeled with signs.
