Why should you use a database instead of Google?

Library databases are paid for by our library so you can have free access to scholarly information.  The content on the databases has been evaluated for authority and accuracy.  Anyone can put information out on the internet.  Sometimes that information is incorrect, misleading, or biased.  When you do a search on the library databases, you can quickly and easily limit your search to only the articles that you need.  A search engine like Google is a vast sea of information with no organization.  You will have an overwhelming number of results that you will have to weed through to find relevant information for your paper or project.  Through our subject databases, you can find information that specifically relates to your topic, and get guidance to expand your topic through the database if needed.
